Wine Experience

I really like wine a lot....

My parents let me drink wine at dinner at home since I was about 16 and I drink wine pretty often at school, probably at least once a week. I agree with Boyer in that it gets you drunk faster for cheaper and is less calories, but it definitely tastes better than beer and liquor so wine is usually my drink of choice. I like to drink with my parents because that usually means its free plus I'd like to think my dad knows good wine. We usually have at least 20 bottles of wine in my house at a time...my parents really like wine.

Honestly, after one or two glasses I'll pretty much drink any kind of wine. I prefer white wine over red wine definitely if I have the choice. I like the white wine is more like juice, sweeter and acidic. I'm not very favorable to the red wine and how it's really dry and usually has a weird after taste (or so I think so.) But like I said, after a glass or two I'll drink pretty much anything.

There's a new wine bar in my hometown, Parallel, and it's actually really cool and interesting. I went with my mom and her friend and the baby I babysit, so it wasn't exactly the outing I was looking for, but I got a wine called "French Kiss" and I remember it was absolutely amazing (but no great words I don't know how to describe it). The coolest thing I saw there though was they had this awesome wood rack for carrying around glasses. But I would really like to go back there!

I am really interested in learning what wines go with what foods. And I'm excited to learn about how to describe a wine like smells and tastes, because pretty much my only words are sweet for white and dry for red. It'd be cool just to know more than my dad about wine too.
